※Use thread locker when replacing outer disc rings and tighten the bolts with the torque shown in the tightening torque table below.

※Floating structure has a gap between the bell housing and outer ring, it may cause a rattle sound, but has no practical problem.

※The discs surface is finished in black by an anti-corrosion process. Iron appears in the part where the brake pads contact the discs.

※Anti-corrosion protection of the discs will not completely prevent corrosion from occurring. Since the discs are made of cast iron, it is impossible to completely prevent corrosion. Please be aware DIXCEL will not offer any exchanges/refunds for corrosion of discs.

This outer ring is replacement parts for 2 piece brake which has been already equipped with.
Outer rings for OE caliper, racing caliper and DIXCEL 2 piece brake assembly are available.

L:FP/R:FS

Brake Disc Installation Direction

◆FP

Curved vanes are used, so there is a difference between the left and right side when installing.
Refer to the L and R labels on the product when installing on your vehicle.
The cooling effect will be diminished if installed in the wrong direction.
Pay particular attention to the installation direction with the FP type that has no slits.
*Only with the FPBS35630T12R/13L for Toyota/Lexus are right and left reversed in terms of vane
direction.
Read the user’s manual included with the product.

◆FS

With the FS type that has slits, the direction of the slits differs
depending on whether they are straight or curved.
Refer to the drawing below to install it.

Bedding-in 2-piece brake discs

When 2-piece brake discs are installed, the first bedding-in is very important. In
particular, if the product is to be used at circuits, improper bedding-in could result not
only in less-than-optimal braking performance but potentially problems like judder
and distortion as well. Refer to our recommended bedding-in method below.

  1. The location should be a circuit or other place where it will not inconvenience drivers behind.
  2. Apply medium-hard braking from 120 kph to 80 kph about 40 times consecutively.
  3. There may be some judder during the process, but it will decrease as the brake discs are bedded in.
  4. Finally, run a cooling lap and bring the rotor temperature down under 100°C.
  5. Make sure the contact surface of the brake pad is burnt and has turned white to a depth of about  
     1mm.
  6. Check and make sure the brake pad is in contact with the whole surface of the brake disc, there are
     no heat spots or other spot patterns and there is no abnormal deposits of brake pad material.

This will complete the bedding-in process.

●R35 GT-R

In Step 2 above, it’s convenient to set the vehicle monitor to the Braking G screen
and engage in 0.5-0.6G braking.
*The recommended method above assumes DIXCEL brake pads (those that support circuit
driving) or genuine brake pads are paired with the brake discs.
If brake pads from another manufacturer are used, these steps may not apply, so please
contact the manufacturer of the brake pads.

Cutting for balancing

All DIXCEL brake discs are checked for balance to prevent vibration. Correction of the balance is done by milling/cutting out the side of brake discs. This is a method taken by car manufacturers’ brake discs.
