Stop noise shim
Effectively absorbs the vibration from braking and reduces noise
- Vibration occurs from the friction between brake pads and brake discs when brakes are applied.The vibration is transmitted to associated components and lead to so-called brake squeal. "Dixcel stop noise shim" was developed to dampen the vibration and reduce the brake squeal.

Caution : Do not use “ Dixcel Stop Noise Shims” on a race track. Installation of shims must be done by qualified mechanics.
How brake squeal occurs
- Vibration occurs from the friction between pads and discs.
- Vibration is transmitted to associated components and cause unpleasant high-pitched noise.
- Shims prevents the transmission of vibration.
- They change audible noise to subaudible noise, and prevent brake squeal.
※Brake squeal can take place because of the properties of brake pads/discs materials, wear status, and/or other deteriorated components. In some cases, shims may not be able to reduce the squeal effectively.

Structure of “Dixcel stop noise shims”
- Absorb and isolate the vibration by multi layer structure.
How to apply Dixcel Stop Noise Shims
If incorrectly applied, shims may come off or become misaligned with use.
- Degrease and clean the back plate.
- Align the shim, and press it tightly against the back plate.
- Apply the grease on the shims as needed.
- Fit the brake pad and make sure the brake functions properly.
※ When using Dixcel Stop noise shims, do not use the original stainless shims that came with the original brake pads. Total thickness of the brake pads may become too thick for the brake calipers or it may cause the brake drag.
